Return To Badminton – 6^th September 2023

Dust your racquet’s down as we will be starting back to badminton on Wednesday 6^th September. Times are 7:30pm to 9:00pm.

Look out for an email soon with more details and membership form. Membership fees are the same as the last two years.

Return To Badminton – 7^th September 2022

After the lovely HOT summer it’s great to be able to we will be starting back to badminton on Wednesday 7^th September. Times are 7:30pm to 9:00pm.

Look out for an email on 25^th August with more details and membership form. Membership fees will be announced then too, hopefully we can maintain them the same as last year, fingers crossed.

Return To Badminton – 1st September 2021

We have now signed a contract with Schools Plus, the new letting agency for Robert Smyth, to start back 1st September 2021. As you can imagine, health and safety requirements have increased and now include COVID-19 precautions. We know you are all itching to play again and September seems a long way off, but we normally break for summer from May to September. Jo is kindly booking some courts at Harborough Leisure Centre once a week on an ad-hoc basis depending on interest. Cost of courts is split between players so can vary. Members can contact Jo through the clubs WhatsApp group ‘HV Badminton Club’.

Covid-19 Update – 21st March 2020

As you will be aware, all schools closed on Friday until further notice and so School Letting Solutions have rightly cancelled hiring facilities. So, sadly we are having to close the club until further notice. They are talking of schools not opening again till the end of summer. We will be back as soon as it is possible and safe to do so. When we do it will be an amazing session and we will have to all celebrate afterwards in the pub! We will email you when we are on the other side of this sad situation.

Meanwhile, keep your loved ones and yourselves safe, look out for those who need help and only buy what you need. We will get through this if we all pull together.

Christmas Break 2019

Our last badminton night is on the 11th December followed by our Christmas Meal (see Events page) on the Friday 13th December.

We return in the New Year on the 8th January 2020.

Autumn Return 2019

Membership fees MUST be paid before playing – we will be emailing bank details and membership forms so you can make a bank transfer in advance. Cash or cheques payable to ‘Harborough Valley Badminton Club’ are acceptable.
Remember to sign in the register before playing and sign out when leaving.

Easter 2019 – Badminton is ON

Yes, we carry on playing over Easter, so you can eat all your chocolate Easter Eggs then work the calories off at badminton! What could be better!

Half Term 2019 – Badminton is still ON

We still continue to play badminton on 13th February (Y9 Parents Evening) and 20th February (Half Term).

Christmas Break 2018

Our last badminton night will be on the 12th December (see Christmas Fun Tournament in Events) followed by our Christmas Meal (see Events page) the following week.

We return in the New Year on the 9th January 2019.

Members MUST sign in the register before playing and sign out when leaving.

Summer Break May to September 2018

We have broke up for the summer on 9th May and return in September.

Easter Break 2018

No badminton on the 28th March or 4th April due to Easter holidays. Enjoy your Easter celebrations and don’t eat too many Easter Eggs! If you find yourself suffering badminton withdrawal symptoms why not try the ‘Shuttlecock or Not’ fun quiz on our Links page.

Christmas Break 2017

New Year Return 2017

After the Christmas and New Year break I guess we are all keen to get back to playing badminton and getting fit again! Badminton starts on Wednesday 11th January 2017 (7.45pm to 9.15pm). No badminton Wednesday 25th January as the hall is unavailable.

12th October – Badminton on as normal
19th October – Badminton on as normal
26th October – No badminton due to ‘Options Day’

Robert Smyth have rearranged the ‘Options Day’ so badminton is now ON for the 12th October and no badminton on 19th October (new ‘Options Day’). So to summarise;

No badminton on the 12th October as the hall is unavailable. Badminton will be on the following week even though it’s half term.
Advance Notice: there will be no badminton on 25th January 2017 or 8th February 2017.
